It was bittersweet going there. I love Denver, but it was sad going there and not seeing Joshie. He's now in good ole Pittsburgh. But he is enjoying himself more so that's good, I guess.
As I was in Denver, of course I only got more excited and even a bit emotional about my upcoming (a year an a half is still upcoming people!) wedding. You get one day... and I truly want it to be everything we can imagine. I am in search for THE reception site. Once I have that, we've got all our venues. I think I mentioned before that our wedding is going to be in July- one of the hottest months of the year so of course we want something indoor, but I'm not opposed to having an indoor/outdoor place either. And our church is in North Dallas, so it would be nice to have something near it. I love decorating, or trying to anyway, and I have this idea of what I want our reception site to look like. Very modern, contemporary. (Completely different from the very traditional church). Every place I find has some crazy rules, or crazy prices, and it's making ME crazy.
I found a hotel in downtown, the Magnolia, that I LOVE. They have 3 ballrooms and you can do LED lighting, etc. very contemporary. There are just no prices online- and that usually means "it's more than you can afford, Carla". *sigh* So it's, December and we're nearing another new year, and mine and Josh's official anniversary. This is a pic of us about 4 years ago!
I LOVE December, for a number of reasons. I love Christmas and celebrating the birth of my Lord and Savior. I love decorating for Christmas and listening to Christmas on KVIL. And I love spending time with my family and my fiance. December is the one month out of the year that I get to see Josh for more than 3 days at a time. He arrives on December 18th in Dallas and doesn't leave until January 8th- during which time I will be attached to him like we're in a three-legged race. I'm even thinking about purchasing one of those harness/leash things that parents humiliate their children with in public. Josh has no idea what he's about to get himself into. You see... he thinks that he only has to hear about my dilemmas about wedding planning over the phone, but now... he now gets to become a part of them. Sheerly by the fact that he'll be within 5 feet of me at all times, he is going to have to go where I go, and do what I do.... and I'm simply scheduling some tours of some places for around the time of December 18th through January 8th (yes, I think that's good) so I can get a better feel for what I want.
Joshie- if your'e reading this. Get excited.
